Hotel Julien

A calm, intimate retreat where historic character meets contemporary design

Hotel Julien isn’t our first chapter with this team. After building august from the ground up together, we knew each other’s language. This time, the ask was softer: refresh a beloved Antwerp retreat without losing its soul or the quiet confidence that makes it timeless. Knowing the client made all the difference.

Services include: brand identity – digital strategy – content strategy – design – tone of voice – copywriting – analysis

The approach was to honour Hotel Julien’s iconic and unique spirit while gently evolving the visual language toward something more contemporary and refined. This evolution introduced a broader use of colour, a clean yet distinctive typeface, and a more balanced logo.

Old plaster walls, new linen, soft light. The hotel is a study in restraint, and the website carries that same atmosphere: unhurried, tactile, with room to breathe.

We did an extensive content exercise, which resulted in both defining a new brand language and a renewed focus for image creation. A series of (atmospheric) moving stills were made to highlight the intimate details present in the hotel.

The bar, rooftop and event spaces are part of the appeal of this hotel, drawing in guests beyond those staying the night. Part of the task was to reinvigorate these areas for that audience. Together with Hotel Julien, we strategised an approach to communicate directly to specific target groups. The result is a combination of our revised language, image approach and dedicated landing pages.
